"Caledon Gardens" situated in the unspoilt Caledon Valley in the magnificent Eastern Free State Highlands. Situated between Clarens "The Art Mecca of the Freestate", and Fouriesburg (20km from each) and only 4kms off the R711 Maloti Tourism route, on a 312 hectare farm. The guesthouse accommodates 12 guests with en-suite rooms available. Underfloor heating and ceiling fans are fitted. Accommodation is on a Bed and Breakfast or full board basis. Food can be served on our sandstone veranda or around our dam situated in the lush gardens, which is spectacularly lit up at night, transforming it into a colourful romantic wonderland. Your other options are in the private dining room in the house or on your own private patio. Our unspoilt views of Lesotho and the Maluti Mountains make for wonderful dining and sun downers. Art and Culture is available with sandstone sculptures, international and local oil on canvas prints and Lesotho mohair products, for sale. Full DStv on a big screen is provided for guest's use, in a comfortable communal lounge with a log fire to provide heart warming memories, sipping Gluehwein around the fireplace on those cold evenings. Truly a place to come and relax and enjoy the fresh mountain air and the tranquillity of the Caledon Valley, overlooking Lesotho. Horse riding and donkey rides are available and with a wide variety of birdlife in the gardens, a true pleasure for birdwatching. Caledon Gardens has easy access to Clarens and skiing in Lesotho in winter. A wide variety of activities are available in the area, including but a few, are flyfishing, golf, hiking trails and many more. Come enjoy something different in luxury. Accommodation Garden Units Our garden units are exclusive and only a limited number of guests are accommodated for, to ensure your privacy. Sliding doors open onto your private patios outside our garden units for private sundowners. The garden units are double rooms with king size beds. All our rooms are well furnished with oregon wood furniture for a comfortable stay.
A hospitality tray is available in each unit. Towels are provided and hairdryers are available on request. All our linen in 100 % cotton for that luxury feeling. Camping cots are available for the tinny tots. The rooms have underfloor heating for winter and ceiling fans for summer We supply complimentary soap, shampoo, shower gel and body lotion.
